A 47-year-old New Westminster man was taken into custody for a sexual assault on SkyTrain, but Transit Police need to find the victim.

A release from Transit Police said a woman in her 20s got off at the Broadway Station at about 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 and told a SkyTrain attendant she’d been sexually assaulted on the train and identified the suspect, who was still on the train. The attendant got on board and kept an eye on the suspect until the Transit Police could board.

They took the suspect, who was previously known to police, into custody at the Patterson Station in Burnaby, but by then the victim had resumed her journey without giving a statement.

The victim is described as black and well dressed in all-dark clothing. Transit Police would like her to call them at 604-515-8300 to speak to investigators, who are also interested in talking to anyone who might know who the victim is or witnessed the incident.
