great article,
After his first game since he popped his collar, the assumption that the best college football running back of our time will be heading pro. Not necessarily! Though he had a decent game yardage wise, and 2 TD’s in his first game back, he may stay for one more.
He has yet to put together a full season since his freshman, is as big a fan of Sooner football as he is of football. With Oklahoma returning with a strong team in ‘07 he will give a senior season a worthwhile look. What a year it can be, a solid Sooner team with a legitimate shot a another BCS bowl game or even National Championship, almost certain Heisman contender, and a top selection in the 2008 NFL draft. Or the chance to get that game winning opportunity back that Ian Johnson took from them, to rush for another 25-yard TD in overtime and get the win against a cinderella unit.
BUT, a guar-on-teed top-10 selection in THIS years draft, and the NFL’s millions are a hefty contender. Plus, never having to wake earlier for another class again would be priceless. Either way, this bruising tailback is in for a hell of a 2007 season while in the meantime we wait for his decision…
